is one of the charge card industry’s few acronyms for the Visa security code that checks the authenticity of a Visa. Contingent upon the card, the security code can be a three-digit or four-digit number, imprinted on either on the back of the card or the front. CVV remains for “card confirmation esteem” code. Other card backers call their security codes CVV2 (Visa), CVC2 (MasterCard) or CID (American Express).
